Morganville, Texas. Just south of normalIn the college town of Morganville, vampires and human coexist in (relative) bloodless harmony. Then comes Bishop, a master vampire who threatens to abolish all order, revive the focus of the evil dead, and let chaos rule. But Bishop isn't the only threat. Violent black clouds promise a storm of devastating proportions. As student Claire Danvers and her friends prepare to defend Morganville against the elements, both natural and unnatural, the unexplained happens: Morganville's vampires begin to vanish one by one. Discovering why leads Claire to one last choice: swear allegiance to Bishop... or die.
I truly am beginning to love this book series so much! Once again the whole world seems to be unravaling around Claire but what is even weirder is that all vampires seem to be united in taking down the big bad Bishop. I think the beginning where the whole town is burning and you now right then that the war has started is beautifully written. The whole book it refers to a game of chess, you have the pawns who you would willingly sacrifice, the queen who fights for what she believes in, the kings who they are protecting, the knights who do their bidding. I did not see the ending at all yet when you look back there are loads of little clues leading up to it but you are willing to turn a blind eye because you don't want to believe it. Even with the ending I love Myrnin and I really don't think anyone can change that even you Immi, by the way thanks for my Myrnin bracelet! My only question is now how can she top it?
